Our client Leo from O-Lifestyle brought us this new exciting project on Aegina Island, Greece. It is a luxury club and hotel providing the opportunity to escape the normality of reality. At the same time, it is a redevelopment of an area where the hills underwent a forest fire a couple of years ago.
The old site.
This time, we built a 3D model from the scratch and created 3D renderings, and the result turned to be satisfying. In this case study, we described the whole process step by step, so that you can have a clear perspective of an architectural visualization project. Let’s check it out!
Leo was looking at different types of 3D visuals: 3D rendering and 3D floor plan. To specify:
An aerial view of the harbor, demonstrating the masterplan of this resort;
An interior view of the room, which gives a clear view of the hotel accommodation;
An exterior view of the hotel, which is a close-up view showing the details of the hotel environment;
A 3D floor plan to showcase the layout of the room.
Building the 3D Model
Leo summarized the references for the buildings and shared the masterplan, and we needed to build the 3D model based on these information.
According to the masterplan details, we knew the following:
There are two rows of suits, and they are identical;
The recreation area sits behind one of the suits, including brasserie, sky lounge, lobby, SPA & wellness, and linear pools;
There is a lagoon with sand beach and waterfall;
Facing the sea, there is a beach all-day restaurant club;
Along the beach, there is a yacht floating docks and a yacht owners decked pathway & seating area.
After studying the above references, our 3D specialists built the model using 3ds Max, and it looked like this:
The aerial view & close-up view of the model.
Exterior & Interior 3D Renderings
First, let’s get clear of what we were looking at. The exteriors of the project consists of two views: an aerial and a close-up view. As to the workload, aka the time needed for each view, the aerial view took longer than the other one.
The Aerial View
To demonstrate 100% of the original site, Leo sent us some drone photos for photo-composition for the aerial view.
Part of the site photos.
The landscape plan.
After discussion, we decided to go with the camera angle facing the sea. In the rendering draft, we particularly:
Embellish and add greenery to make a natural look of the barren hill because of fire;
Adjust the lighting according to the original photo;
Added materials and textures and make sure they are consistent with the tone of the original photo.
It didn’t take too long when we received Leo’s comment on the first round draft. As you can see, Leo gave us some comments on the placement of yachts and other minor adjustments.
Comments from Leo’s team.
Our 3D artists revised each details as in the comments. Here is the final result.
Leo loved the way we processed the hills behind. This aerial view is done.
The Hotel – Interior & Exterior View
Using the 3D model we’ve built, Leo pointed out two views he wanted: an interior view and an exterior close-up view.
Now, let’s have a look at the references Leo shared. In the references, our 3D artists were able to have a clear idea of the furniture plan and material board. This greatly helped the production process.
The process strictly followed the 3D rendering process: 3D modeling – material, texture & lighting – rendering & postproduction. After a couple of rounds of minor adjustments, the final images were complete.
3D Floor Plan
Floor plans are an essential part of real estate, and 3D ones give the viewers a true feel for the look and layout of a space. This time, Leo was looking for a 3D floor plan.
According to the floor plan of the units, our 3D artists built the 3D floor plan and fit the proper furniture in different spaces.
The floor plan.
By adding realistic material and texture, also recreating the beach and sea, the 3D specialists created the first round draft:
Leo’s team came back with their comments rapidly. This time, the comments particularly focused on the bathroom:
Change the glass around the shower to a more vivid color;
Add a shower head inside the shower;
Swap the positions between the shower & the sinks-counter set, and adjust the size of each correspondingly.
As a result, we’ve fixed these issues in one day and delivered the final 3D floor plan!
The Final Results
Let’s show you the final renderings together. We’ve delivered them in 4K resolution as we promised. We believe once this resort is complete, it will be a memorable place for its visitors to enjoy unique holidays.
This resort & beach club is planning to open to public on 2023. Our renders are now on their website for marketing. We are honored to create 3D works for this project. Leo and his team is very nice and well-organized, and we’re more than glad to hear that they’re satisfied with our service. Our team hope to work with them in the near future.

Taking the landscape system as urban infrastructure: Taking the city as an ecological system, combine the infrastructure functions with the urban social and cultural needs through the construction and improvement of the landscape infrastructure, so as to build and extend the city and solve the problems faced by the city, such as climate change and population flow. Under the framework of the landscape system, the infrastructure construction supporting urban development, such as energy, water, transportation, food production, waste treatment and other elements, will be integrated in a new way to form a new urban supporting system; The infrastructure construction becomes to build a special landscape space, not just engineering facilities.
Solve problems in the comprehensive, overall, pragmatic and innovative ways.
Pay attention to modern, humanistic and diversified design sense to lead the times, face the future and make audacious renovation.
Follow the principle of ecological adaptability, enhance the connectivity and integrity of natural space network, and form an urban natural support system.
Deeply excavate the cultural value connotation of the new municipal landscape, emphasize the cultural characteristics of infrastructure, and ensure the integrity of ecosystem service function and local culture.
Give consideration to the operation management, activity organization and maintenance cost of “new municipal space”.
It is expected that the design of each project will be based on an international perspective and enhance the ecological pattern of the Longgang area. Create a model of the bay area with blue and green interweaving, mountains surrounded by water, promote cultural integration and innovation, and create a charming urban area with bursts of vitality. By giving full play to the unique ecological resources, a main ecological corridor with Longgang characteristics will be created.
Integrating natural, ecological, creative, humanistic, historical and other resource elements, it has become a “forest-friendly plan” with both international quality and the original characteristics of the area, and a new platform for the integration of nature and the city. Create a new benchmark for the future-forward municipal landscape system that integrates ecological environment and urban imagery.
The design of municipal public facilities and landscape environment shall comply with the laws and regulations on the management of ecological protection red lines, forest fire protection, mountain protection, cultural relics protection, and basic ecological control line management. Introduce the principle of landscape priority into traditional municipal public facilities, reconstruct the landscape and municipal public space system in the area, use new technologies and new materials rationally, and create an urban micro-environment that is human, comfortable, rich, full of fun, distinctive, and suitable for movement and stillness.
Create a new municipal temperament of openness, collaboration and innovation, and build a design model of ecological adaptability and open and interconnected landscape. Build a system of rich natural ecological elements, taking into account the operation management, activity organization, and maintenance costs of the new municipal space.
Realize the interconnection of green roads, green roads and ecological corridors, and build an ecological pattern of “blue and green interweaving, mountains surrounded by water”. Create a new municipal public space with a great sense of design. Establish an intertwined cultural and ecological network to create a matrix of interaction and connection between man and nature.
Stage I (application and pre-qualification): to ensure that the project is full of creative, forward-looking, artistic and scientific themes and ideas, and guides the development and implementation of the new municipal landscape design in the future, therefore, the overall understanding of the project at this stage consists of two parts:
combined with the overall promotion strategy of ” Beautiful Longgang with Mind-blowing Transformation “, put forward the overall strategy framework for building a new model of the ” New Municipal Administration – Forest Affinity Program ” project;
based on the above, put forward the design strategies and concepts for each track, and describe the design ideas and solutions by referring to the schematic diagram, concept sketch or benchmarking analysis of similar performance projects.
Stage II (Conceptual scheme design): carry out theoverall research for each track and select1-2 nodes as landscape conceptual design. The specific contents shall be determined after the shortlisted units are selected.
