By producing high-quality, photorealistic images and animations of the interior design, 3D rendering can be a valuable tool for expediting a project. You may hire a team or do it yourself quickly and effectively generate visuals that best highlight your design by building accurate and detailed 3D models and rendering them in a realistic manner. Let’s see how to speed up an interior project using Interior Rendering Services.
Z Residence is a luxury house in Tokyo, Japan. 2 kilometers from the Tokyo Tower, this three-story property is nestled next to the Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park. Tomo from SAAD is one of our friends in Japan, this time, he requested our 3D team to create 10 renders to show the majestic interior design.
Interior Rendering Process for Z Residence
#Stage 1: Briefing
As we mentioned millions of times, a good 3D rendering brief can be the accelerator of a project. To help the 3D team work fast and efficiently, we will take this project as a good example of how to provide a 3D rendering brief. Tomo, as we collaborated many times since 2016, is the expert in briefing. Here is the clear, concise brief with accurate and detailed information:
A Rhino model. A basic model that has the spaces created. It needs further refinement.
The elevations. Since it is an interior project, we don’t actually need information of the exterior design. However, understanding the whole picture is necessary to creating accurate interior images.
Floorplans and Views. Tomo kindly marked the camera angles, aka the views, in the floor plans. We’ve got all floorplans for three floors, the basement, and the roof. In total, we needed to create 10 images, which are: one entry, two pool, four master room and ensuite, one kitchen, one living room, and one dining room.
Material board. This material board outlines various materials as well as names and textures of different parts of the building, both exterior and interior.
Furniture layout. Because the model has no furniture for most of the rooms, this file marks details of furniture including location, design, brand (if available), color, and reference images.
Landscape plan. Since some of the views include outdoor scenes especially the garden, we’ve received the landscape plan for the garden. In this plan, the plantations are listed clearly with reference images.
Floor plans and views
After studying these files, our 3D modeler started to create the 3D models for this interior space.
#Stage 2: 3D Modeling
At AIMIR, we use 3ds Max to create 3D models for most of the times. A stunning 3D model is the key to make the work stand out.
The first thing we did was to input the Rhino model into the 3ds Max, sorting the lines, materials, and geometry, fine-tuning it. One of the key things to keep in mind in this step is to create with a clear picture of the whole project in mind. This will keep our 3D modeler stay focused on the aim.
This time, we paid great attention to the lighting and shading while creating accurate models. This is because proper lighting and shading are of great help for making models look realistic. For this luxury house with many large windows, we believe it is vital to use lighting and shading techniques. In the end, we shared ten views in the 3D model and Tomo was happy with them so that we could move forward to next stage.
#Stage 3: Applying Materials, Textures and Lighting
In order to create photorealistic scenes, our 3D artists firstly selected the materials and textures strictly based on the material board. At the meantime, set or adjust the lighting according to the scenes. Eventually, the colored drafts were completed and shared.
When we shared the colored drafts to Tomo, he replied back with comments. Especially, he wanted to:
Change the finishes of marble walls, benchtops, cabinets to matt;
Make the color of the glass darker;
Change the color of the pendants;
Add white appliances such as Miele microwave and oven.
In the meanwhile, we adjusted the drafts with the help of these comments. Soon, we moved to the next stage.
#Stage 4: Rendering and Post-production
In this stage, our 3D artists refined the scene to make it more realistic by rendering and post-production. During the process, the scenes were rendered in the rendering software and then added or adjusted the details in Photoshop. Furthermore, Tomo’s comments for the drafts are as below:
Adjust the concrete wall texture;
Add steel entrance door;
Change a couple of décors such as the carpet and blanket.
After all of the comments were modified, we shared the drafts to Tomo. He approved them and loved the images a lot. To specify this process, our professional project manager and art director was involved. This is to guarantee the quality of the work as well as the efficiency of communication between clients and our 3D team. This is our Quality Control system, you can check this article here for more details on how we guarantee the quality.
#Stage 5: Final Delivery of High-res 3D Renders
We created ten interior 3D renderings for Z residence. Please enjoy this luxury house in Tokyo.
We have to say we really love this amazing house. Our team enjoyed working with Tomo and would like to work on more architectural visualization project together. What’s more, with the help of 3D interior renders, we believe this house is a welcoming home for its future owners.

When it comes to marketing a property, home staging is an inevitable step to help sell faster and better price. By adding or removing furniture and accessories as well as changing lighting and colors, the vacant houses increase their appeal and realize the full potential. NAR’s 2021 Profile of Home staging (National Association of Realtors®) suggests that 47 percent of buyers’ agents agree that it has an effect on most buyers’ perspective of home. Besides, more than 80 percent of buyers’ agents incline to the view that the staged houses are easier to be seen as their future home for buyers.
Although it is no longer a new idea in the industry of real estates, some progressive changes brought by 3D visualization techniques infuse it with greater power. This innovation, named “virtual staging“, involves using computer software to digitally decorate rather manual work. It is a big trend of this field in the fast-paced era with the development of 3D technology. That’s why in this blog we’ll address an overview of virtual staging for you. What is it? How does it help you? Let’s get started from these two questions.
What is Virtual Staging?
Serving the same purpose, the clear differences between traditional staging and virtual staging are the methods in dealings and the achievable effects. Traditional staging relies on physical furniture and interior decor to redesign a house. It tries its best to restore the beauty of the empty space. To achieve this, it’s vital to hire a good staging company where stagers, movers, cleaners, photographers and other essential staff work together to complete the project.
Evolved from traditional staging, virtual staging is a process of developing aphotorealistic visualization of the house through 3D software, exploring all the possibilities that it could be. No need to prepare any single items, what it requires is to take photos of the empty rooms from different angles firstly and add virtual furniture and accessories from 3D model warehouse in the chosen pictures. With a phone or laptop, good Internet access and creativity, you can virtually stage any space within a few clicks and have an exciting and inspiring presentation of the listings at your fingertips. No need to worry if the final furnishings doesn’t match the style of the house. There are various types of furniture models on virtual staging platforms for your option. There is hardly any cost to revise the design plan if you are not satisfied.
How does Virtual Staging Help Real Estate?
#1. Easy to alter
A picture is worth a thousand words. Presenting the house in its best light and conveying the ready-to-live-in impression are the key to making the properties shine and standing out in such a competitive real estate market. It is significant for each property to seek the right style. For traditional staging, the process of trial and error is too expensive involving manpower and material resources. However, it is a piece of cake for virtual staging which offers great flexibility of modifying the design. Restyle is easily available ready to hand so that you can remove the existing outdated furniture in the real estate photos. This benefits a lot especially when you want to increase the price or transfer your target market from classy to modern.
#2. Simple to use
Just like what we mentioned before, there are many ready resources of virtual staging apps and software. Many people choose to work with professional outsourcing companies in order to save time and energy. Also doing it yourself is an economical option. The user-friendly interface allows even beginners to digitally add ornaments from the material library to the images. As well, it’s a realizable task to match the wall color, flooring, fixtures and more with the selected furniture. Click, tap, drag and stage, then you can create stunning and share high-quality images to max out your property value.
#3. Cost-effective and time-efficient
Time and cost for the staging are also a big plus. Some factors will influence these two parts, such as the size of the house, turnaround time, the level of detail and so on. Traditional staging usually ranges in price from around $2000 to $5000 within a few days. In addition, the cost increases if needing some fixes before staging. Once closing the deal, everything staged before has to be removed, which is another workload.
Compared with its conventional counterpart, virtual staging, whose duration is about 2-3 days, takes less time but gets the same perfect results according to the same requirements. As for the expense, it is generally about 10% of the cost of traditional staging that is between $39 and $100 per photo. Discounts will be provided for the sheer volume of images. And it’s more affordable to do it yourself with the help of virtual staging software.
#4. Wider marketing reach and better visualization
Nowadays, over 90% of buyers start their search for the dream home on the Internet. Therefore, digital marketing is as important as traditional marketing. Images and videos made by virtual staging can be instantly transmitted and spread through the use of electronic media for more audience. Not limited to these, 360 virtual walkthrough tours which are a unique selling point, can also be offered for potential buyer to explore the rooms over long distances or under extreme weather and reduce trouble of in-person visits. What’s more, it’s hard to imagine the life in the empty space. But a vivid virtual staging will make it inviting and warm, building a wonderful vision for would-be buyers, visualizing their arrangement in the space and finally boosting sales.
Obviously, virtual staging is the best marketing approach for real estates to sell houses fast, easily and for the most money. Are you ready to try it? If you don’t even have time and proper equipment for taking photos for your rooms, you may try 3D architectural visualization services. Contact our professional project manager now, and we’ll get back to you within 12 hours with the best visual solution for your project!

Luckily, as modern technology develops rapidly, a magical method-3D visualization is used widely now. You may think it is complicated and high-cost. Actually, its huge benefits and excellent outcome deserve every user’s praises.

Similarly, with 3D interior visualization, people can choose suitable materials and interior objects without excessive trials and economic waste during construction. They can request for several 3D renderings to compare different views. Even they can get a 3D animation to have a more comprehensive view.
Accessible to the Public
Not all the potential clients who want to buy a furnished apartment like to study a complicated drawing. Therefore, an accessible model with perfect rendering tends to catch their attention more easily. With the help of 3D visualization, people can understand the interior structure, decoration, furniture, etc. Based on the visible effect close to reality, professionals can check and adjust their designs without hard imagination; developers and buyers can quickly decide whether the interior style fits their expectations or not; investors can judge if a project is worthy of investment.
