How Does AIMIR Conduct Quality Control and Project Delivery?

How Does AIMIR Conduct Quality Control and Project Delivery?

All clients who have cooperated with AIMIR before know how we conduct quality control, and make sure each and every project runs smoothly.  We are glad to see a majority of clients choose to continue working with us and we are thrilled to see they are satisfied with our services. But how did we achieve all that? To break it down, we wrote this blog so as to provide some insights for our clients into it, which we believe will even enlighten our peers a little bit.

Before commencing the project

Before we start working on the 3D rendering, we will fully communicate with our clients to understand their specific requirements on quality and detail and judge whether we could fulfill their expectations through elaborate assessment. This is the prerequisite for a smooth delivery. Regarding other details, we will send clients a checklist with regard to the following subjects in order to deepen our understanding of the project:

Views-Confirm the view angles and total amount of renderings

Architecture Design-Confirm the object’s design

Terrain & Site Plan-Confirm the surroundings/context

Landscape-Confirm the landscaping details

Mood and Quality-Confirm the mood and quality

Other Key Information

Site location– To help us learn the local conditions (climates, vegetation, etc.).

Project function– To help us understand the function of each area.

Use of the images -to understand if it will be used for Marketing, Competition, Report, Bidding, Fundraising, etc.

People– to understand the request of race, clothing, age, and other special requirements

Sun position or direction of light – to understand if the lighting is from Front lighting, side lighting, back lighting, etc.

Design highlights– to understand the main ideas of design. To help us understand what client wants to convey through the renderings.

The aspect ratio of each image – to understand if there is any specific request to apply to 16:9, 4:3, or other sizes etc.

Project ongoing

We will start the 3D renderings basing on the checklist as mentioned above and each round of update will stick to the following crosscheck processes:

Internal Check: Feedback received and sorted out firsthand by the project manager -> 3D artist’s first modification & review->Project manager second review >3D artist’s second modification ->Production director’s final check;

External Check: We will send over Crosscheck file where we go over each comment, marking ‘done’ on corrected ones, and remark unsure revisions if there’s any and then reach out to clients to confirm the uncertain comments as shown in the following picture.

During the process, we will categorize the following situations as anomaly and react accordingly with speed:

– The same comment has shown twice, the project manager will keep a close eye on it, making sure an effective two-way communication between the technical team and clients.

– The same feedback has shown three times or more, the project manager will report this situation to the production director, find the cause, come up with a solution, and clear all confusion;

– Client complaint, the project manager will report this to the production director or CEO, we will hold a/multiple special conferences gathering the technical team members and project managers who in charge of this project, in order to solve clients’ problems precisely.

After the final delivery

After each successful delivery, our CEO will send a Project Survey & Summary to our clients for feedback on the experience of working with us. On our side, the project manager will sum up this project with its pluses and minuses, analyze them, and come up with an action plan accordingly. The gist is to pave the way for better cooperation in the future as we resolve other similar problems and improve our services.

Not all project can be completed without any hiccups, however, we at AIMIR is not afraid to face them, and we will never evade them. We’ll always live up to our promises and frankly inform things that we couldn’t achieve. The survey will help us spot the problem fast, connect with our client, actively seeking improvements, and work out solutions. After all, satisfying our clients and help them earn a good result is our ultimate goal. It is close scrutiny and consideration of every feedback and team effort that wins us many heartfelt compliments from our clients. If you like our 3D renderings or intend to work with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We are open for further discussion for this topic as well. Let’s talk!

3 Ways to Create Perfect 3D Architectural Visualization

3 Ways to Create Perfect 3D Architectural Visualization

Nowadays, it is not difficult to make a lifelike 3D visualization for architectural projects by equipping with powerful software. However, the lower threshold brings more rivals, who heats up the race of the visualization industry. Many designers are striving for the perfect 3D visualization, but a fabulous one never grows on trees. There are several essentials that designers must keep in mind in order to achieve the perfect quality.

Details make all the difference

The emphasis of 3D architectural visualization is to make it as real as possible. Therefore, the elements relevant to the project are supposed to be added while visualizing the 3D rendering, which can increase the realness and be more convincing.

For a better understanding of the importance of surroundings, we can take nature elements as an example. Many people will say that nature is not as important as the main building in architectural projects. However, this opinion underestimates the great positive effect that nature brings to the atmosphere. For instance, the project looks more modern when featuring cloudy weather and manicured trees and lawns. The sunny weather and blooming flowers, however, bring out the passion and romantic atmosphere. In this way, the interaction of buildings and surroundings makes the visualization more convincing.

In addition to the exterior, the interior details such as furniture, home appliances, windows, bricks are also necessary when maximizing the reality. Beyond all that, any other details which help to show the beauty of the project should be considered by designers. As one proverb goes, details make all the difference.

Never forget shadow, lighting and visual angle

If we assume that details shape the physical body of the 3D architectural visualization, we can say that the shadows, light and visual angel bring it to life.

First of all, we talk about the shadow and lighting. The lack of shadow and lighting makes the project look artificial and plastic. When you render the shadow and lighting, you need to consider the angles and sun direction, which ensure that there is more depth as well as a perspective for the viewer to view the building clearly. Besides, the essential part is highlighted. Nevertheless, the amount of lighting requires careful consideration. When the light is not enough, it is difficult to see the central building clearly. Whereas, too much light leads to the loss of details. Quality lighting is necessary and essential for rendering a stunning 3D rendering. Therefore, handling the light and shadow is the point for designers to keep in mind.

Another way to increase the realness is to add special visual angles. A camera-based overview is a case in point. But why the camera-based overview matters? Because it starts from the perspective of people and conforms to people’s habit of observing things, which includes the angle of the camera and height adjustments, the 3D rendering will become more immersive and realistic. Hence, from now on, try to think like a photographer.

Ensoul the architectural visualization

An excellent 3D architecture visualization company always has its own style and personality. As we had mentioned before, the progress of visualizing technology brings the increasing industry homogenization. Only the one who features a unique style can stand out and catch the eyes of buyers. A famous visualization company is especially good at bringing out the beauty of the project. The application of countless 3D model combinations allows viewers to have a look through various angles. It will focus on the change of the weather to present the extreme effect. It can even mislead people that this is a dynamic picture. Consequently, ensouling 3D visualization is also what we need to highlight.

The process of making 3D visualization for architecture is to give life and soul to a deadly design. Your technical skills can help you create 3D rendering but never forget that the right mindset bring the design into reality. Hope these 3 essentials help designers pursue the more beautiful 3D visualizations and renderings. If you are looking for architectural visualization, welcome to contact AIMIR.

How Product Rendering and 3D Visualization Help Your Business?

How Product Rendering and 3D Visualization Help Your Business?

The new iPhone 12 is coming up! Is it true? The picture is so realistic and convincing. Even though Apple Inc hasn’t released any real product, it has provoked a heated discussion on the cyberworld. But how does the picture of the new iPhone can come out before the physical model is produced? Product rendering and 3D visualization make it possible.

What is Product Rendering and Visualization?

Product rendering and 3D visualization, as a term always being quoted together, are distinct concepts actually. Product rendering is defined as “the automatic process of generating a photorealistic or non-photorealistic image from a 2D or 3D model by means of a computer program. ” While product visualization is defined as a process that “involves visualization software technology for the viewing and manipulation of 3D models, technical drawing and other related documentation of manufactured components and large assemblies of products.” It seems that they are merely the computer realization processes to attract consumers. But it works far more in advertising, design, and architecture of a new product.

Product Rendering and Visualization — a Secret Weapon in Advertising

Whenever people take a walk in Time Square, they will be impressed by the colorful and vivid video advertisements and dynamic posters playing on the huge billboard. Those ads are trying their best to catch the eyes of every passer-by, which is impossible without the expressive power given by the product rendering. However, an ad that really appeals to costumers requires more than simply showing the perfect appearance of the product. How to convey the inner spirit such as the minimalism of IKEA’s furniture and the customer-oriented theory of Coca-Cola, not to mention Tesla’s strong thirst for innovation. The product rendering and 3D visualization technique, featuring great flexibility, allows the designers and engineers to shape the images of the products as they wish. Hence, the technique can be counted as a secret weapon in advertising.

Product Rendering and Visualization —a Silver Bullet for Design business

The reason why I bring up the new iPhone 12 is that the smartphone industry has long been at the leading edge of using product visualization to advertise. However, the technique plays a much more important role in the life cycle of a new product. Brainstorm is always regarded as the first step to create a new product. This is the period when designers have countless meetings and pop up many ideas, while only a few can breed the final product. In order to choose the best one, the designers have to think real and observe the products that have to live under the same rules and physical constraints. The product rendering and 3D visualization service lend helping hands once again. It turns the sketch of the idea into reality. Therefore, the product becomes easier to be presented, tested, and modified via rendering software.

Product Rendering and Visualization — a Tool in Assembly

The potential of 3D rendering goes even further than that. Let’s get back to the example of a smartphone. A smartphone is combined with hundreds of individual parts including the display, the battery, the storage, and the front and back camera, etc… Assembling each part together is not difficult, but fitting them harmoniously into a finished product takes time and consideration as well. This is a significant advantage of product rendering. For example, detailed visuals make communication between engineers and designers go smoothly. The team can draw graphs to tell the person how to operate. Besides, in spite that the smartphone industry and the traditional production line is mature, visualization technology makes the industry not only stop at the current achievements but also think out of the box and explore the future.

In addition to its role in designing parts, 3D rendering service also plays an essential part in end products. Many realizations are purely aesthetic but when introducing some technical factors, such as waterproof, and battery life, the digital model can bring a lot of valuable information to the producer. A deeper and more accurate understanding of physical products can be reached before the physical product is produced.

Although it seems inconspicuous in some fields, product rendering and 3D visualization, are increasingly involved in every process of industry such as design, assembly, and advertising. People cannot produce a perfect final product without its help. It is no exaggeration that we can regard it as an integral part of the modern industry.

Product rendering and 3D visualization services have been widely used in many businesses and industries. It opens a lot of doors to all sorts of great opportunities. If you are looking for architectural visualization, welcome to contact AIMIR for any questions. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Why My Building looks Tilted When Presented in the Rendering?

Why My Building looks Tilted When Presented in the Rendering?

There is no doubt that 3D architectural visualization is an effective marketing strategy for architects to procure new business opportunities. More and more designers are intended to use 3D rendering services for their business development. But there is a question emerged, why my building looks tilted in the rendering? Today, we prepared a blog to elaborate on this common situation in the design industry.

Have you ever notice that when you walking among the buildings, the tall buildings appear to slant or distorted. Of course, the buildings are not literally twisted or falling, it is only looked distorted within a range of perception. Distortion can be solved by algorithms, but the deformation cannot be observed by the human eye is because our brains often make up for it.

The basic theory of making a 3D rendering is as same as taking photos. In reality, when taking a photo of buildings, especially the skyscraper, many buildings appear to be tilted. Why? It’s because of the effect of stereoscopic perspective. For example, raise your hand and move it toward your eyes, you will notice that our hand has blocked our vision completely. Generally speaking, it is the rule of the nearer the bigger, the further the smaller. Influenced by the stereoscopic perspective, it is commonplace to see tilted buildings in the photograph or in the 3D rendering. Now, we compare some photos with the 3D renderings made by AIMIR to get a more clear understanding of this question.

Here is an aerial shot provided by our client for making the surrounding
Human eye shot

It is because when we are taking the photo standing on the ground and tilting the camera upwards, the lens is closer to the bottom of the building and far away from its top, which makes the bottom looks huge and impressing than they really are whereas the tops feel more like dots since they are far away from us and look even smaller and further away. Thus, from a human’s perspective, a building from bottom to top is getting narrower and the outline of a building seems like slanting. If using the wide-angle lens to take a photo or using ultra-wide-angle, no matter what kind of building, they cannot escape from appearing distorted in the photo. The building looks like falling is because of the distortion. Distortion, edge flaring, ghost shadows are common phenomena while using the ultra-wide-angle lenses, which can’t be easily solved by algorithms. Therefore, ultra-wide-angle lenses are best for shooting landscapes but not for buildings.

Are the slanting buildings in pictures inherently bad? The answer is: it depends. The slanting buildings prove to what we see from the human eye level, which has a more compelling visual effect and is in line with reality. We will make specific analysis according to different projects and the needs of our clients. AIMIR has worked with many clients for the past decade. There are some clients who asked for correction yet others are intended to show the actual effect of the tilted building according to the stereoscopic perspective. Regardless of what effect our clients want to achieve, they all can be easily autocorrected by 3D rendering software.

In a word, if you have any questions about leaning and verticality, please discuss with our project manager in the modeling stage, we will strive to reach your expectation. Please feel free to contact AIMIR if you have any questions about 3D architectural visualization. We are rather happy to help you with further details.
