Making of Summer House in Los Angeles, California:Beautiful Photorealistic Renderings for Home

Photorealistic renderings are essential to interior designers and architects. Because rendering is the best way for them to showcase the expected result of their work in advance. As the most powerful tool, designers can use them to win clients’ approval for their ideas. Today, AIMIR is proud to share the Summer House Project. It has helped our wonderful client X Studio to gain their client’s heart.

X Studio is an amazing studio who delivers wonderful interior designs to the world for private projects. AIMIR has been working with X Studio for a long time, we has created 3D renderings and animations for a wide range of projects. The Summer House is a challenging project for AIMIR, because the client asked for many custom furniture, and a very strict sense of the atmosphere. On top of these, it had an urgent deadline. Please follow us to enjoy this warm and welcoming home.

We’ve got an email about the starting of this project in April. Robert, the interior designer from X Studio, asked if we could make the deadline of 14 days. Therefore, we immediately had an internal meeting about it. Like in every collaboration with X Studio, they sent all documents and files. Because they are crystal clear about AIMIR’s working process. Also, we had a Zoom meeting. They have conveyed their ideas of this design during the meeting. The project got started.

Detailed References

The satisfying result relies on detailed references provided by X Studio. Thanks to our long-term cooperation, Robert knows the importance of reference for this interior project. Our 3D artists strictly followed the texture references received, recreating every object from the references in 3Dx Max with 100% accuracy.

For this special and unique home, the designer hoped to have many custom elements. These elements and furniture were designed specifically for this home only. In order to meet this request, our CG specialists created all 3D models from scratch for this scene.

Setting View Angles

In order to show different areas of this home in the renderings, AIMIR’s 3D artists adjusted the angles of the camera to find the best presentation of the space. We’ve suggested several camera angles. Luckily, Robert took them all.

In the bedroom, Robert wanted to focus on the texture, which can showcase the coziness and comfort of this space. Our 3D artists found the sofa and the bed as the key objects. Robert was excited with suggested angles. He believes these are great translators of his ideas.

For this angle above, the bedside lamp is in the middle of the view, along which the viewer will find a comfortable bed on the right side and a modern walk-in closet on the left side. When the lamp becomes the main lighting of this image, the natural light from the left side makes the whole image more lifelike and photorealistic with the shadow of the lamp on the wall.

Another good example of camera angle selection is this view above. Zooming out and viewing from a corner of the bedroom, this angle gives a general view of the whole space. With the viewpoint set from the corner sofa, it is easy to imagine yourself sitting on it, feeling comfortable in this cozy space.

Final Delivery in High Resolution

With the right camera angles selected, proper texture attached, and required furniture and décor modelled, we’ve come to the last stage – the rendering stage. The rendering process will convert the finished scene into photorealist images. So that designers and architects are able to use them for presentation, marketing, advertising and other activities to be a translator of their ideas and designs.

We delivered the final images after the rendering process, with full HD resolution as the client requested. It only took 14 days to complete this fantastic project.

This is a great example of the standard working procedure of AIMIR’s cooperation with clients. X Studio contributed a lot in this project, as well as AIMIR team. Everything we did – meetings, exchange of files at hand, providing details – is to make the process easier. We are honored to quote Robert’s comment for this project: “It’s always nice working with professional people like you guys. Thank you very much for your suggestions, especially on the view angles and texture matching. Great workflow, quick delivery. Will definitely work with you again.”

3D Lumion Animation: A Photorealistic animation of Children Hospice

3D Lumion Animation: A Photorealistic animation of Children Hospice

How to make an architecture project presentation impressive? What can we do to attract potential clients when pitching an architecture project? It’s not easy to convince your owner when there are only rough sketches and schematic drawings. Luckily, modern technology brings more possibilities. As for architecture, 3D architectural visualization is a mainstay that actively alters the way we design and present. Want to know how? Keep reading.

In the field of the CG industry, there are many 3D rendering software available for different requirements. Some are for new beginners, and some are for advanced users. But regardless of what stage you’re in, it’s easy to find software that can bring your design alive.  Today, Lumion is a fast and helpful 3D rendering software attracting professionals and architecture firms from all over the world. It’s a user-friendly tool that allows you to render in the most realistic ways without restrictions. Its beautiful and photoreal effect contributes a lot to convincing clients and makes the cooperation move forward in a positive way.

There are countless advantages to Lumion. I think it is more persuasive if you can see the real product made by Lumion. Here is a 3D Lumion animation of the Children Hospice project that AIMIR team made in 2019, which is for terminally ill children and their families.

When our clients first reach to us, he doesn’t have a clear view of using which software. After sorting out the files, which is saved Lumion pro9.5, we suggest he using the Lumion animation for its convenience but also photorealistic quality. Once clients approve the project, we quickly agreed on the feel that this 3D animation should be bright, cozy, colorful, and joyful, giving a feeling of happiness, and the cameras should move at a slow pace.

The whole project is located in a quiet place, surrounded by lush landscape. Access to the interior, the starry sky element is installed in the ceiling throughout each of the spaces, entrance, separate lounge, and dining areas, which echo the transitional nature of life, serving as a reminder of the magic of the twinkling heavens. The colorful wall coverings and paintings are widely used inside, building a joyful and fun environment for children. When we step inside the patient room, it’s continuing the colorful decoration, which is spacious and comfortable. There are many beautiful flowers planting in the garden and the large sliding window allows ample sunshine to get into the room. It’s nice and pain-relief when you have encompassed so many lovely things, which is like a paradise for the sickness.

Please enjoy the key frames bellow:

When we putting so much effort into the animation, background music is also an important part, which will immerse the audiences in the stunning frames. However, at first, the client did not want any sounds because it will be part of a bigger marketing video and there might be a narrator’s voice. After the discussion, the client finally determined to add background music. Here is the final animation of this project, please enjoy it.

Creating a compelling and informative 3D animation is no longer a big problem for architects with the help of the advent of CGI software. It has become much easier and the effect is growing. We can create realistic lumion animation of property, showing exterior and interior with any atmosphere and in any setting or background. AIMIR has created many photorealistic 3D animations, if you want to tell your story in an immersive and convincing way, please feel free to contact us.

6 Excellent Software for Architects and 3D Artists

6 Excellent Software for Architects and 3D Artists

Too often we go asking for the best programs or software for perfect 3D rendering or 3D animation. In the industry of architectural visualization, it’s not possible to use only one gimmick once for all. From time to time, architects and designers have to choose from the right program to get the best 3D rendering, animation, or VR according to the disparate merits each different software boasts. However, this article is not to suggest the best one, but to provide lead-in insight into different programs and needs. After all, beauty is in the eyes of the “berenderers”.

AutoDesk 3ds Max

Developed by Autodesk Media and Entertainment, AutoDesk 3ds Max, formerly as 3D Studio Max, is a powerful and professional software dedicated to 3D Modeling, 3D Rendering, Animation, and Games. Other than used by lucrative studios or video game developers, it’s also a useful tool for architects and 3D artists to create soulful 3d architectural visualization including still images and walk-through animation.

However, 3ds Max is most noted for its modeling edges, with a number of easy-to-use and flexible toolsets offered to its users. Also, models transformed into 3ds Max file show a more compelling effect, which is one of the reasons why AIMIR prefers well-crafted 3ds Max models.

Blender, compared with other big names of visualization programs, stands out not only at its cost but also its community-driven platform vison. Like it has characterized itself at the website:” Blender is your own 3D software”. The public is granted the power and capability to make changes at the core base and others to streamline the usage and experience. It doesn’t matter if you are students or a private-owned commercial group, Blender is a free software to use out of any directions. It can be regarded as less-capable versatile software compared with other advanced ones, but always good at producing wonderful 3D outcomes. This is an easy one to get start off for 3D freshmen, but they could encounter obstacles while turning to other programs. Anyway, all roads lead to Rome and one will always find something in common and adapt.

The merit of Maxwell is that it’s a free and standalone software that offers access to all kinds of users. It secures accuracy in production and is featured by its Multilight, which allows instant adjustment of lighting or ambiance, and previews are also accessible in seconds. But, it takes, as reflected, long hours to render. The good news is the latest Maxwell 5 indicates a faster experience than ever before, with several updated and new features such as Random UVs, Coating in GPU, and Cloud rendering service. Await the speeding though.

Artlantis sounds promising as a 3D rendering program, impressed by its imitation of Atlantis, the fabled island where mystery roams and inspires modern literature. Back to its feature, is Artlantis really worthy of such a reputation? As a render engine developed by Abvent, it has benefited users by helping them make high-quality 3D renderings, animations, and virtual tours. The user-friendly interface has lowered the threshold to comprehend its function as to full control over the tool. One of its outstanding features lies in Real-time Preview, which is also its founding concept that allows users to process continuous changes instantly. Its processing speed is also exceptional as to showcase the scene, lighting, and stuff. The latest features also include the Denoiser tool to smooth the rough pixel and portal tools to manage indoor lighting better.

V-Ray/Lumion 3D

V-Ray and Lumion 3D are both excellent programs to produce wonderful 3D renderings. When we put them into detail comparison, they differ in numerous aspects. Lumion 3D offers real-time render, an outstanding feature that’s for preference. While V-Ray is a much more sophisticated option that offers photo-realistic 3D renderings. New users can choose Lumion 3D as a great start and V-Ray for a professional level. But in short, they are both powerful rendering programs. Certainly, for architects and designers, they can follow up on the newest versions and review great changes in either processing speed or final performance.

In addition, previously we have shared thoughts on to compare different advantages of the different programs with actual cases. To clarify, discussions onto the above six programs may seem biased, but as users of these products, we must keep critical thinking and improve constantly. What suits embodies the best, and learn to track the updates that’s quickly taken place in the 3D world.

What Favors Can Architectural Visualization Offer?

What Favors Can Architectural Visualization Offer?

3D architectural visualization, as most architecture-related professionals known, has become one of the essential parts in architectural planning and construction. Today, architects aren’t simply holding long-stretched blueprints with all mark-ups and tags and just manage the project by sheer imagination. The up-to-dated technology has largely changed the way and make it more easier and convenient. 3D rendering tool helps not only architects but also those who desire their ideas to be visualized in a better light.

As the wise would remind you to hold second thoughts before everything is decided either upon a strong impulse or levity, 3D interior rendering, in essence, offers great favors for designers and developers before reality assumes. So what favors exactly can 3D architectural visualization offer? This article will break it down as below.

Present beautiful image to your client

By leveraging the 3D technical tools in architectural visualization, clients can be offered with the very first impression of their ideas as a whole. If the images shown largely match clients’ expectations, then congratulations, there is a great chance that they will approve the project and invest money into it.

3D rendering can help architects to offer a grand picture of designs to their clients. Architects combine all the design elements together in the 3D rendering, so it’s easy for those investors, who don’t possess the professional insights as designers do, to picture the yet-to-build building. More specifically, they are capable of assessing quality. By presenting the model, clients can choose the angle and revise the outline of it, and after that, they can provide feedback on the materials, texture, and landscaping to make the design more desirable. Clients can involve in every step of the design and see a clear picture of how this beautiful building will look in the future.

3D rendering can offer a strong impression to your client and help fasten the decision process by present the beautiful images.

Provide panoramic and detailed presentation

This feature has partly coincided with the above discussed insights. Photorealistic renderings can highly display the details and general impression of the interiors. Long before 3D technology is applied in this industry, designers or architects can only imagine the interior through 2D sketch-ups or project plan. Now even if they are blessed with incredible artist mind and hands and that they can create realist paintings, they could be flawed and might miss or portrait some details.

With computer software like 3Ds Max, the pictures could provide a better display of details that run through each corner of the interiors. Not only that, but clients could also see from any position at the model nowadays and decide which views can best describe the designing story. With 3D rendering, investors are able to see the tiniest details of the design. Meanwhile, the furniture, fixtures, and equipment could be moved to different positions, which allows designers and clients to see how everything interacts with one another, make comparisons and come to the final decisions.

Therefore, with panoramic and detailed presentation shown by 3D interior designers, architects and clients can relocate their focus and make their ideas better understood.

3D Animation and Virtual Reality for more wonderful insights

We’ve talked about still images, but what if we can just experience a realistic walk-through into the room and look at the designs like in reality? Today, we are capable of developing a realistic virtual tour. 3D animation, though less authentic compared with VR, remains important for most people, especially for those who didn’t have the insights of design and how it would develop.

Virtual reality, on the other hand, is the upgraded version, or more, world-changing technology that burgeons in recent years. It has largely affected a number of industries, including that of 3D Rendering. By using VR technology, clients, architects, developers or investors could eventually zoom around the rooms or buildings without actually being there. For an undeveloped project, VR could also manage to create a realist tour since everything could be set up in the 3D world. Even more, people can now adjust and move things around on their own accord with the latest technology and could feel a sense of touch using special gloves Haptx. All these are just tips of the iceberg, as more are still waiting to be discovered. It’s, perhaps, the best way of presenting the project, the ideas of which is then rendered with souls.

These are the favors that nowadays 3D architectural visualization can do for you, all of which generally correlate to 3D technologies. If you are interested in having your ideas visualized, whether it be interiors or exteriors, we at AIMIR can help you realize the specific visions, for we provide quality renderings as well as VR services. Warmly welcome you to contact us.

3D Walkthrough Animation of Dareus Residence In Florida

3D Walkthrough Animation of Dareus Residence In Florida

In order to win the heart of your client, sometimes you need more convincing than a pad of paper or sketches. 3D animation is a popular tool in the world of design, which help professionals to present their design in a more attractive way. You can go far beyond the imagination with the use of 3D animation. On June 22nd this year, we’re very excited to have another amazing 3D animation project in hand and completed it later in the name of Dareus Residence. This was a process to fulfill the ideas of one of our regular clients and therefore, we are pleased to present to you the process and toils we both made till its final spectacle.

Start from Scratch

The project location was then an undeveloped area with several built houses around. There’s not detail information indicating the house’s direction. Basing on a few information we had, there’s a confusing part: where’s entry? Which way is the façade? We’ve requested for specific location and direction information, basing on which we set the models as below for checking.

The modeling wasn’t what concerned the client, but somehow the lead-in video path seemed to be ever-lasting. Instead of starting from the street, we, by client’s favor, managed to make it roll from halfway up to make it concise and shorter compare to the original version.

Refresh with post-work & rendering

The project is located in Hobe Sound, Florida, so coastal air is consequently important for the context to present. The client sent us useful information including image references for the materials and textures to be applied in the frames. Specifically, the context setting is well depicted, as it not only contained a full material board but also offered a reference of presentation, which help us better understanding what effect our client is looking for. With everything clear, we made rendering drafts of keyframes through a few rounds of revisions in the rendering process. See the images below.

These just look more terrific than they seemed at the very beginning, don’t they? As Jennifer Yuh Nelson says, a lot of the time in 3D animation is spent getting the story right – that’s something you can’t rush, animation and 3D rendering can and should be applied in the same way. Every keyframe has been reviewed carefully by our project manager so as to meet the high-quality standard. In the process, we’ve exchanged ideas on how to apply greater details internally and also have many rounds of back-and-forth with our clients in order to get things clear. Examples are shown below prove that smooth and effective communication matters the most in reaching expected effects.

In this case, low walls and urn with flame were a new design proposed by the clients that were never mentioned after compound the keyframes. But, if clients’ creativity emerged, such as adding more warm lighting and greening that blends perfectly into a dawn mood and coastal atmosphere, we can manage to satisfy these needs, given that they weren’t complicated and didn’t include drastic changes. AIMIR is always pleased to help if it’s within our ability. All things considered, this has showcased a perfect combination between our professional work of 3D architectural visualization and clients’ ingenious ideas, the former being promising in breaking through the seemingly limited obstacles in reality form, the latter, the facilitator of the wonderful presentation of future.

To wrap the project up, let’s just take a look at how everything within imagination is developed out in the undeveloped area in this 3D walkthrough animation.

3D animation brings a lot of benefits to designing, including sounds and various effects to enhance the journey experience, not to mention that it showcases the contextual elements, material, and surroundings.
