Congratulations to ASPA KST, who has won the architectural design competition of the new Offices of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) in Marousi, Greece. As the 3D rendering partner, we created four photorealistic office renders for this amazing project. Before moving to the 3D rendering process and design details, let’s enjoy the final office building rendering!
Office Exterior Rendering Help Won Architectural Design Competition
The New Offices of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE)
Situated in the Municipality of Marousi, Greece, Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) is celebrating its 100th anniversary of establishment. With a total plot area of 9,066 square meters, the new plan will be two separated building masses which are Γ-shaped and will face each other, creating an internal garden-courtyard. Moreover, the four-story buildings will ascend with gradual setbacks from the second level to the top level, forming tiered, planted roofs. This bioclimatic design ensures minimal conventional energy use while keeping thermal and visual comfort. The new office of TEE is registered with the certification goal of LEED Gold.

Deciding the Views through Drone Photos
In the brief, we learnt the client was looking for four to five views, and they’ve provided some drone photos for the aerial views. What we needed to do was to test the geometry on the photos so that the client could decide which to proceed with. To support our client’s decision-making, our 3D artists quickly merged the model into the photos with the accurate geometry.

High-resolution drone photos provided by the architect.
After reviewing all views, the client decided to go with two of them. Other views were confirmed later when the architect completed the design and the model was refined. And the four views are as below:

Final views: two aerial views using drone photos; one aerial view from the above; and one street view.
3D Modeling of the Office Buildings
Let’s back to the start. The Rhino model we received were not complete, and the architects were still working on the underground parking, façade, and landscaping details. After receiving the final model a couple of days later, our 3D modeler polished the model with intricate details based on the architect’s instruction. This time, we shared the refined model until the client was happy to proceed.

Coloring the 3D Scenes
After the model and views were confirmed, our 3D artists started to color the scenes. During this stage, we would apply materials and textures on, setting the lighting, and render the scenes. According to the references, our 3D specialists chose the materials for the architecture to reflect light and shadow in the most enchanting ways. With every element in place, we processed every nuance of light, texture, and form, until finally, the breathtaking images emerged.

Final Delivery
As shown in the beginning of the case study, four photorealistic 3D images were delivered in four days.
Competition Winner and Groundbreaking
In the beginning of 2024, the plan for the New Offices of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) was won the architectural design competition. Not long after that, construction had begun in May 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions about Office Building Rendering
– What is included in office building rendering?
Office building rendering involves creating detailed and realistic images or animations of office buildings before they are constructed. It renders but not limited to:
- Architectural details such as façade, structure, and roof.
- Interior spaces including lobby, offices, common areas, and amenities.
- Surrounding environment such as landscaping, urban context, people and vehicles.
– How does office building rendering help demonstrate the architect’s vision to investors?
Office visualization acts like a powerful sales tool for architects. Instead of investors just looking at blueprints, renderings provide a photo-realistic view of the finished building. This allows investors to:
- Visualize the Design: Investors can easily grasp the architect’s vision for the building’s aesthetics, layout, and functionality.
- Evaluate Marketability: Renderings can showcase features that attract tenants, like green spaces, modern architecture, or an abundance of natural light.
- Identify Potential Issues: Renderings can reveal potential problems with the design before construction starts, saving time and money.
Essentially, renderings bridge the gap between the architect’s imagination and the investor’s reality, making it easier to secure funding.
– What time of the day / weather / season should I choose for the office building visualization?
This is a tricky question. The best time, weather, and season for your office building visualization depend on the architect’s vision and the building’s target audience. Please consider the overall mood you want to convey and tailor your choices accordingly.
– Do I have to use high-res drone photos for the background? Or are there any other method to deal with the background?
You don’t necessarily need high-res drone photos for the background of your office building rendering. You only need to provide high-res drone photos when you want to use site photos for the 3D image. There are some alternative methods:
- Grey massing which uses grey/white/transparent blocks to represent the surrounding architecture.
- Use similar models from the library to save time and cost.
- Create 3D models of the background environment.
Each of the methods have its merits and drawbacks. You can refer to this article for detailed advices of how to deal with the surrounding context here.
– How can office rendering benefit the marketing and advertising?
Office renderings significantly enhance marketing and advertising efforts by providing visually compelling and realistic images of the proposed space. They also highlight key features and design elements, making it easier to communicate the unique selling points of the office space. Moreover, office renderings can be tailored to showcase different configurations and uses of the space, appealing to a broader audience with diverse needs.
– What is the process for office architecture visualization?
The process for office architecture visualization involves several key steps to transform design concepts into detailed, realistic renderings.
- Concept Development: The architect begins with sketches and conceptual drawings, outlining the basic design and layout of the office space.
- 3D Modeling: Using specialized software, the architect or the 3D modeler creates a detailed 3D model of the office. This model includes structural elements, furniture, and fixtures, providing a comprehensive view of the space.
- Material and Texture Application: Textures, colors, and materials are applied to the 3D model to enhance realism. This step involves selecting finishes for walls, floors, and furniture to reflect the intended aesthetic.
- Lighting Design: Accurate lighting is crucial for realistic renderings. Architects simulate natural and artificial lighting to showcase how light interacts with the space at different times of the day.
- Rendering: The 3D model is processed using rendering software to generate high-resolution images. This step can also include creating animations or virtual tours for a more immersive experience.
- Post-Production: Final touches are added using graphic design software. Adjustments to color balance, contrast, and additional details are made to enhance the overall visual appeal.
- Presentation: The final renderings are compiled into presentations, brochures, or digital formats to be shared with clients, investors, and marketing teams.
This structured process ensures that office architecture visualizations are accurate, appealing, and effective in communicating the design vision.
