1.1 Project Name: China Giant Panda National Park Theme Park Design Competition
1.2 Project Background: China Giant Panda National Park Theme Park, located in the world cultural heritage Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area, is one of the world’s natural heritage Sichuan Giant Panda Habitat and an important part of the Giant Panda National Park. It is the world’s first panda theme park.
The project is backed by Qingcheng Mountain, north to Dujiangyan, and south to Jiezi Old Town. It is located in the core area of Dujiangyan-Qingchengshan-Jianzi Old Town Tourism Development Zone. It is 60 kilometers away from the downtown Chengdu. There are Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, Chengqing Express, Shaxi Express Line, Tianfu Avenue and Chengguan Express Rail five fast transportation lines connected to the urban area. It can reach the Chengdu downtown and Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in an hour.
Covering an area of more than 7,000 acres, the project includes the Dujiangyan Panda Base of the Giant Panda Research Center. It includes the Key Laboratory of Rare Animal Conservation Biology of the Giant Panda National Park and the National Scientific Research Base of Endangered Wildlife Conservation Biology. It has nearly 100 Giant Pandas, Crested Ibis, Golden Monkeys and other rare and protected animals.
In order to guide the development of the culture & tourism industry of the Giant Panda National Park Theme Park, create a theme park benchmark, and become a sample of sustainable development in the Giant Panda National Park in the future, we openly collect high-level design solutions with unique creativity and world-class design.
2. Design Contents
Main technical requirements for design tasks: Taking Panda as the core element，building the Giant Panda National Park Theme Park. Drawing on the advanced experience of tourism development, it is required to deeply analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by the project development and clarify the overall positioning of development. The design is supposed to have an international vision, forward-thinking and innovative in order to guide the high standard planning and construction of the Giant Panda National Park theme park. The project positioning, the regional transportation system, the excavation of the panda culture, and the ecological path transformation need to be concept planning. For the design of the functional structure, land layout, tourism status, comprehensive transportation system, development capacity control, ecological landscape system, public space construction, etc. within the project, the scheme needs to meet the requirements of the land layout plan. The design should propose the spatial development strategy and planning ideas of the district. It should include detailed design of land use and control, roads, landscapes, architectural features, public space organization, product layout, etc., and needs to meet the layout of various types of projects in tourism, culture, leisure and vacation in the region.
4. Application Requirements
This public tender is open to all. Domestic and overseas companies or organizations with legal business registration may apply for participation.
1) Applicants from domestic institutions must be independent legal persons and possess Grade A qualifications for urban and rural planning or Grade A or above for landscape architecture design or tourism planning；
2) Applicants from overseas institutions must have a legal business registration and design license in the country or region where it is located；
3) Applicants from Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan institution must have a legal business registration and design license in its area.
After announcement of the bid awarding results, six design agencies that have passed the pre-qualification and submitted effective design deliverables can obtain the relevant fees according to the final ranking. The specific settings are as follows:
First Prize (1): RMB 1,000,000
Second Prize (1): RMB 800,000
Third Prize (1): RMB 600,000
Participation Prize (3): RMB 200,000
The first prize winner institutions will participate in the follow-up program integration, optimization design and planning work, and the follow-up service fee will be about 1 million RMB. Other bidders who have excellent schemes not winning the bid can sign strategic cooperation with our corporate group. After integrating the resource advantages of each bidding company, the bidding company and the corporate group will sign a follow-up design cooperation for single construction and landscape.
The chief designers from bid winner companies will be awarded the honorary title of “The first batch of giant panda designer”, and have the related rights to this honorary title. Designers will be invited to participate in various events.
