3D visualization becomes increasingly important in architecture and design. It presents all the design elements and highlights in real-time, through which the investors can visualize the yet-to-build construction right away and make a quick decision. There is no need for any further elaboration on its wonderful power.
Even though 3D rendering is a powerful tool, there’s a question puzzling many people–How much does it cost? The price varies from $50 to $7000 depending on the workload, scale, complexity, etc…There are many factors affecting the budget and sometimes, because of multiple corrections and changes in the render process, it may lead to extra fees.
In today’s article, we will share with you the situations where may lead to the extra cost of making corrections in AIMIR. It can be divided into two cases – exterior design and interior design. Both cases are further subdivided according to the status of the project – underway or being done. Different situations have different charges due to the potentially increased workload.
3D Rendering Price: How to Save Money and Avoid Unnecessary Costs During the Process
Exterior Rendering
Generally, the workload involved for exterior rendering is modelling 40% + rendering 30% + post production 30%. All the extra fee will be charged based on the contract price.
Modification During the Rendering Process
– Model
- Before signing the Model Confirmation letter it’s a natural step to amend the 3D model at the modeling stage. There won’t be an extra fee.
- After confirming the camera and angle, if you want to slightly change the design, just partially modify the model but not change the general structure, there is no extra fee.
- After adding the post-work, you want to update the design. We can accept the slight adjustment for three to five times. If exceeding five times, there might lead to 10% to 20% of correction fees as appropriate. In this situation, we mainly focus on negotiation and communication with designers. Please provide your final design and avoid repeatedly changes over and over again.
- Another situation is that there are great changes in the design, which means what we have done is in vain and we have to start production again. This situation will be charged 40% to 50% for the modification fee.
– Camera Angle/View
- Before signing the Model Stage Confirmation Letter, we will provide different angles for client review. There are no extra fees incurred during this stage.
- After signing the Model Stage Confirmation Letter, you can extend or reduce the views based on the same camera position without incurring additional fees.
- If you request a change to the camera angle(s) after the post-production work is complete, a 10% to 20% additional fee will be applied, regardless of how minor the adjustment is. Changing the camera angle requires us to rework the entire image, including reapplying all textures and materials to ensure proper placement. Typically, a slight change in the angle has minimal impact on the overall effect of the drawings. Therefore, unless there are special reasons, we do not recommend making slight camera adjustments.
- For significant adjustments, we will charge between 50% to 100% of the original fee, depending on the extent of the camera movement within the scene. The final pricing will be equivalent to creating a new image.
– Texture
- It’s normal to change and test the texture during the process. The repeated changes and updates in texture are acceptable to AIMIR for three to five times. If exceeding five times, we’ll charge 10% to 20% as appropriate.
- There is another case that seems to change the texture but actually, it requires modifying the model. It involves two parts. One is to divide different kinds of texture repeatedly. Another is to rebuild the joints of the model. In this situation, it increases lots of workloads. We will charge 20% to 30% depending on the actual circumstances.
– Lighting
Changing the direction of lighting and sunlight after the post-work stage, it means to do the post-work again. In this situation, we will charge 10% to 20% for modification as appropriate.
– Mood
The rest of the image remains the same but changes the mood, we will charge 60% of the modification fee.
– Scene
Changing the scene it mainly means changing landscapes. Before the project is done, we will modify the scene until customers are totally satisfied. However, if it is changed a lot between the beginning and the final image, we’ll charge 10% to 20% according to the circumstances.

Modification After the Delivery
– Model
- It’s a piece of cake to re-render the image if you slightly update the design after the final delivery. We are happy to help you with it without charging any extra fees.
- AIMIR offers slight adjustment and partial modification on the model twice at most. If exceeding, there will lead to a 10% to 20% modification fee.
- After delivering the final image, if there is a large change in the model but the rest of the elements such as angle, mood, and landscape remain the same, there will be 60% to 80% of the extra fee according to the actual workload.
– Camera Angle/View
- After delivering the final image(s), if you want to zoom in or out the views while keeping the same camera position, there will be an additional cost of 20% to 30%.
- If you request a change to the camera angle(s) after final delivery, there will be a 100% modification fee, regardless of how slight the adjustment is. Changing the camera angle requires us to rework the entire image, including reapplying all textures and materials, which equals to a new image. Typically, a slight change in angle has minimal impact on the overall effect of the drawings. Therefore, unless there are special reasons, we do not recommend changing the camera angle.
- For significant modifications, we will charge between 60% to 100% of the original fee, depending on the extent of the camera movement within the scene. The final pricing will be equivalent to creating a new image.
– Texture
- If you just change the color, we will happy to help you solve this problem by using PS. It won’t cost any extra fees.
- If there’s a partial adjustment on texture, that’s no problem for us. We are happy to fix it for you without any charges.
- If you renew the texture at a large scale, there will be 30% to 40% of the extra cost due to the additional workload.
– Lighting
Changing the direction of lighting and sunlight after the final delivery, it means to adjust the lighting and shadows by rendering the post-work again. In this situation, we will charge 30% to 40% for modification as appropriate.
– Mood
The rest of the image remains the same but changes to a new mood, we will charge 60% of the modification fee due to extra workload.
– Scene
If it’s a minor change in the landscape, we are happy to fix it for you. However, if it is changed a lot, we’ll charge 30% to 40% according to the actual circumstances.

Interior Rendering
The workload involved in interior rendering process is modelling 40% + rendering 40% + post production 20%. All the extra cost will be charged based on the contract price
Modification During the Rendering Process
– Camera Angle/View
It’s normal to revise the angle during the modeling stage. AIMIR will offer different angles for your selection in this stage. After signing the Model Stage Confirmation Letter and revise the angle largely, it may lead to a 20% to 40% of modification fee.
– Texture
It’s totally understandable to change and test the texture in the rendering process. The repeated changes and updates in texture are acceptable to AIMIR for three to five times. If exceeding five times, we’ll charge 10% to 20% due to additional workloads as appropriate. If there’s any extra cost occurred, we will negotiate with the designer in advance.
– Furniture
Custom-make furniture will cost an extra fee. The price is base on its difficulty and complexity. Our project managers will offer the accurate price for your checking before start working.
Modification After the Delivery
– Camera Angle/View
If you request a change to the camera angle(s) after final delivery, there will be a 100% modification fee, regardless of how slight the adjustment is. Changing the camera angle requires us to rework the entire image, including reapplying all textures and materials, which equals to a new image. Typically, a slight change in angle has minimal impact on the overall effect of the drawings. Therefore, unless there are special reasons, we do not recommend changing the camera angle.
– Texture
- There won’t be any extra cost if you want to change the color that can be easily handled by PS.
- If there’s a partial adjustment on texture, that’s no problem for us. We are happy to fix it for you without any charges.
- If you renew the texture at a large scale, there will be 30% to 40% of the extra cost due to the additional workload.
– Furniture
- There is no need to charge for an extra fee if you want to change the furnishing to a simple one that we can find in our material library.
- Changing in bulk will cause the extra cost from 30% to 60%. And complicated custom-made furniture is charged based on its complexity.
Conclusion
Above are the situations where you might need to pay for the extra fee due to additional correction and changes in the rendering process. Please rest assured that if there are any extra fees occurred, our project managers will inform and communicate with our clients in advance. Our one and only intention is not to charge for extra money but to make sure the whole process runs smoothly.
